Rhythm City Casino Review

The Rhythm City is one of the classic riverboat casinos. One of the really nice things about this casino is that you can see the riverboat and all of its charm when entering.

Many other riverboat casinos have such a built-up entrance that you cannot even see the riverboat.

The Rhythm City has three floors with ample room to get around. The second floor has the table games, cashiers, and slots. The first and third floors are all slots.

They have a good selection of slot machines and video poker with a no smoking section.

The table game selection is not bad with most games offered. What I really like is that they usually have two $5 blackjack tables open so you can almost always get into a reasonable game.

I have been to this casino many times since it is close by my childhood home and is my Dad’s favorite casino. We go there every time I visit him.

If you are there and see an old man wandering to each one of the Cleopatra penny machines, tell him his son says hello. Most people have their favorite machines and those are his.

I have usually had pretty good luck at the Rhythm City Casino. At some point or another, there always seems to be a machine or two that will either heal me up or get me ahead.

For a small boat, it has a lot to offer and can be a fun place to play. It is always clean and the staff do a good job of taking care of you.

It is pretty painless to move between floors with two staircases and two elevators. Don’t be in a hurry when using the elevators, they are slow.

Alcoholic drinks and beer are also very reasonable there with drink specials most of the time. I cannot say this about the casinos in Council Bluffs where a beer can cost you $3.75, which is outrageous for a casino.

The buffet on the other hand is adequate at best. Their buffet is very small which would be OK if the food was good. It seemed past its prime. The pies looked like they had been out all day and were dry.

They have been running an on-going two-for-one special at the buffet but I don’t think it is worth it even at that price. Maybe it was just a bad day but you never know when someone will drop in to eat and write a review.

The buffet is really the only bad thing I have to say about the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport, Iowa.

Most times the casino will allow you to play for awhile, which can’t be said about many other casinos.

It has a riverboat gambling charm and a good overall place to play.
